As of Sunday, stores in most states, including New Jersey, could start charging customers a "checkout fee" if you pay for something with a credit card. It's part of a multi-billion dollar settlement announced last summer between credit card issuers and millions of merchants across the country. It came about due to charges nine major banks were fixing processing fees.
U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg retired once but was brought back in to save the day when Bob Torricelli faced corruption charges. Since coming back to the senate after that brief retirement, he apparently doesn't want to let go. This week he basically said he's not thinking about retirement, which of course would pave a smoother way for Newark mayor Cory Booker.
Yesterday Bill and I were talking about opening day of Jersey's black bear hunt. I briefly mentioned a couple videos I knew of showing big game hunters that had the tables turned on them becoming the hunted. Here they are. In both videos, a very angry lion charges the hunters.
