WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (Gloucester) — A tanker fire on Route 42 caused big delays on two South Jersey highways Wednesday morning.

CBS Philly reported the tanker caught fire on the Black Horse Pike around 11:30 a.m. in the Turnersville section of the township, shutting down road at the Atlantic City Expressway.

Traffic was detoured onto the southbound Expressway, causing a multi-mile delay.

Police did not return a message seeking more information Wednesday afternoon.
