In legal filings this month in response to a lawsuit, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey admits none of the money from the recent toll increases at the Hudson River Crossings will be used for the World Trade Center.

Is it really any suprise that we appear to have been misled over the reasoning behind those massive toll hikes for Port Authority commuters?

A newspaper story this week was headlined, "New Port authority Chief's focus is...Maximizing Dollars."  Certainly maximizing dollars is their strong suit. They've excelled at it for years. Dozens of employees who take in more income in overtime than their base salaries, by putting in more overtime hours than there are hours in a week. At least by their accounting.
