HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- The NCAA wants the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to end litigation over the 2012 consent decree with Penn State over the school's handling of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
The NCAA on Monday lifted the on-the-field sanctions placed on the Penn State football team for the Jerry Sandusky scandal, including immediately eliminating the postseason ban and restoring scholarships.
The family and estate of Joe Paterno and others suing the NCAA over the penalties levied against Penn State for the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal added the university as a "nominal defendant" in the lawsuit on Wednesday.
A handcuffed Jerry Sandusky testified by video link for nearly three hours Tuesday as Pennsylvania's public pension agency considered his request to restore retirement benefits canceled because of his child molestation conviction.
