NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Snuggles

Hop on over to say hello to Snuggles, our cute little fawn colored bunny. Sadly, he was found outdoors all by himself, and thankfully the Edison Animal Shelter brought him to safety. Snuggles is a sweetheart who has a docile personality and loves lots of kisses on the top of his head. Along with his rabbit food, he also enjoys fresh leafy greens, carrot tops and rabbit chew toys from the pet store. His favorite treat is bananas! He requires a clean, comfortable, indoor and roomy cage for sleeping, and a larger area where he can exercise and play. He will need lots of quality time with his new family because bunnies are very social and don't do well when they are left alone. We would like to stress that domestic bunnies belong indoors where they are safe from the elements and predators. If you have small children, they need to be taught how to correctly interact with Snuggles because he is very fragile and delicate. To learn the proper care for Snuggles, please visit the ASPCA general rabbit care website here.

If you're interested in meeting Snuggles or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Jelly, a Pit Bull mix, was found wandering near the prison at Lower Ferry Road and Stuyvesant Avenue in Ewing. She is a very friendly and docile dog. Jelly would be a great fit in almost any household. Her calm temperament would work with kids, cats and other dogs.

If you’re interested in learning more about Jelly or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Clutch

Clutch is a striking black and white 2-year-old Pit Bull mix who looks like he might have a little American Bulldog mixed in too. He came to the shelter with his housemate named Jersey who was recently adopted. Since he lived with a dog in the past, he might do well living with another dog, but he would be just as happy as the only pet so he can get all the attention he deserves. Clutch has a very calm and peaceful demeanor. He's simply an all-around good dog!

If you're interested in meeting Clutch or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Danny

Danny is a mild mannered 4-month-old pretty boy who will be your best buddy once held, loved and confident in his environment. He's grown up fast after living on the streets, but he's no tough guy. Danny would rather scratch at his litter box than at a gentle human. He will nap anywhere and at any time, but his favorite place to nap would be in your protective and loving arms. The more kind human contact he can get, the better!  Danny needs an attentive home where he can play and socialize with adults and/or children. He's currently being currently fostered in a loving home and gets along well with big and small humans and dogs.

To schedule a visit to meet Danny, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. You can find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
