Rachel Canning Picks a College
Rachel Canning, the 18-year-old from Lincoln Park who sued her parents for support, has selected a college to attend in the fall.
"Decision made. WNE U (Western New England University) class of 2018 BME Major w/ 56,000$ scholarship," Canning posted on her Facebook page.
Canning and her family have not commented publicly after she moved back into her parents home and dropped the suit she brought against them. The lawsuit was an attempt to force them to pay her tuition at Morris Catholic High School and for college. Rachel, a cheerleader and lacrosse player, had hoped to become a biomedical engineer. She moved out of the house in a dispute over following the rules of the Canning home.
