Kathy Zahn, a third grade teacher in Robbinsville New Jersey joined me today to discuss a letter writing campaign she has started with her students to keep the Princeton Battlefield preserved.

"I heard you talk about and I said 'hmm, what can I do to get the kids excited about it?' because I love history and they know I love history. Long story I short, I said to my kids in the morning meetings, 'What do you think about this?' They came up with some great, great, great reasons.  We decided to write to read and the rest is history."

When I asked Zahn about some of the feedback she got from the students and their level of interest in preserving the Princeton battlegrounds, one of the answers blew me away. Zahn said that some of her students said that the reason they wanted to preserve the battlefield grounds was because "Someday they're going to be parents and they want to be able to bring their kids to see it too."
