It happens most every Christmas. The hot toy comes along, and that hot toy can't be found anywhere. Entrepreneurs gobble them up only to resell them for grotesquely inflated prices to desperate parents.

This year's hot toy appears to be Hatchimals. Never heard of it? It's an egg. You buy the egg, and over time a hybrid animal (two animals diabolically bred into one by the toy maker) eventually hatches. You take care of it, raise it, love it. Love it even if it is a penguin combined with a koala. You never know which Hatchimal you are getting until it hatches. It's part of the allure. This allure is driving some parents crazy. Retailing for $59.99, inflated prices on the internet are going over $200. When will parents ever catch a break?
