NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Molly is a beautiful, young cat whose soft fur is a pale, creamy orange color with stripes.  She has gorgeous golden eyes that engage you as soon as you pass her kennel. Molly loves to play and watch birds outside of her window. She will settle down for chin scratches or pets of any kind. Molly is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on her vaccinations and FeLV/FIV negative.

If you're interested in meeting Molly or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Chloe

Chloe, a Pit Bull mix, was found wandering near Scudders Falls Bridge before being picked up by animal control and brought to the Ewing Animal Shelter. She is a sweet, smart dog who knows many commands. She is currently living in a foster home with two other dogs.  While Chloe was very reactive to other dogs while at the shelter, she is fine with the two Beagles she is living with. It's possible that since they are smaller than her, Chloe doesn't feel threatened by them. Regardless, she is learning each day that most dogs, no matter what their size, are not a threat to her. In her foster home, Chloe is a wonderfully, relaxed couch potato that enjoys napping and being pet.

If you’re interested in learning more about Chloe or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Meghan

Meghan is a sweet girl who came to the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter as a stray. Meghan has been doing wonderfully. She is very well-adjusted and extremely happy. She is mostly black with some white on her chest and the tips of her paws. She also has a tiny, white upside down triangle just above her nose.

We don’t know what breed Meghan is, but she looks like a miniature version of a black Labrador retriever mixed with a McNab. She weighs about 20 pounds and is very sturdy. She walks very nicely on a leash and takes treats gently from your hand. She is such a love bug and so adorable when you pet her because she leans into you so she can cuddle. Meghan is a blast to be around because she likes to run and play in the snow, and she enjoys long walks as well. She is smart and would do very well in some training classes. Meghan has just the right amount of playful energy that makes her fun, and the right amount of calmness when she cuddles up with you.

If you're interested in meeting Meghan or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Willow was found in a parking lot, trembling and shivering this past winter. With lots of TLC she has come a long way since then and is now a beautiful, healthy young girl. She may be shy at first and apprehensive to your love, but we promise she will warm-up quickly.  All it takes is a little bit of patience and a few head scratches.

To schedule a visit to meet Willow, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. You can find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
