Legislation To Stop LG From Building on The Palisades

Do you remember the sarcastic ad campaigning against the planned LG headquarters being built on top of the Palisades that I posted here recently? Well two NJ lawmakers are trying to stop the project as well.

State Sen. Bob Smith and state Sen. Christopher “Kip” Bateman introduced a bill yesterday that would ban tall buildings along the Palisades. It clearly appears to be aimed at putting the brakes on a controversial proposal by LG Electronics USA to construct a 143-foot-high headquarters in Englewood Cliffs. Smith says the Palisades are a national treasure. Others, like Englewood Cliffs mayor Joseph Parisi Jr., says lots of luck overturning a variance that was approved three years ago.
