NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Sammy’s Hope to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Nena

Our little girl Nena is sweeter than honey! This pretty little thing is a bundle of joy and looking for her perfect forever home. Nena is a low-maintenance kitten who is just looking to hang out and relax. She’d appreciate some love and snuggles and will give you the same in return. Calm and affectionate, this delightful little girl is truly a joy to be around.

If you are interested in meeting Nena or fostering/adopting her, please email us at cats@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the adoption application form here or you can see more adoptable cats from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt Jake

Jake (Photo courtesy of EASEL)

Jake took the long road to find the shelter. He was found as a stray with a tag, but the owner had given him to someone on Craigslist. That person then gave him to someone else, and we were not able to find that person. It is just as well because they obviously didn't care to look for him. Jake is a wonderful, friendly dog and very smart. He came to us knowing how to sit and give his paw. Jake can walk on a leash, but needs someone who is assertive to keep him focused.

If you're interested in learning more about Jake or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs, puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Lila

Lila is a sweet, fun-loving senior who is quickly stealing hearts at the shelter!  She is a small shepherd mix and weighs about 30 pounds.  She sits for treats and loves to go for walks, but is just as happy to sit by your side and soak up love. She also enjoys having her beautiful fur brushed. She is a small shepherd mix  and is an absolute delight.

If you're interested in meeting Lila or fostering/adopting her, please email us at info@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt LeeLee

LeeLee is a very sweet, petite cat who always comes running when her name is called. She is amazing and very good with other cats, and would make an excellent companion. LeeLee’s coat has a beautiful mixture of colors and traits that makes for a very unique coat. Her coloring is hard to describe, and must be seen and felt in person.

To schedule a visit to meet LeeLee, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

EASEL Fundraiser for Bunny

Bunny (Photo courtesy of EASEL)

EASEL Animal Rescue League has started a fundraiser for Bunny, a young American Staffordshire terrier, to raise funds for her care at Spirit Animal Sanctuary.  Bunny is a good, sweet dog, who had the misfortune of losing her sight, making her more vulnerable and scared than other dogs. Many volunteers, shelter employees and trainers at the shelter were involved in her rehabilitation.  Our video "A Bunny's Tale" tells her story.  The money raised will go to the Easel Animal Rescue to purchase Bunny a lifetime of food and veterinary care at Spirit Animal Sanctuary.
