Right now we're entering the height of the flu season.

There are several steps you can take to avoid and lessen the chance of getting sick.

First, it's not too late to get a flu shot.  Get one.  Ask any health professional and they will tell you people do not get the flu from getting a flu vaccination.  Injections contain a dead virus that does not transmit an infection.

If you have certain allergies consult your doctor before being vaccinated.

Here are some ways to prevent the spread of the flu virus.

If you're sick.  Stay home.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

If you're coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue.  I see lots of people who don't.

Wash your hands frequently and use a hand sanitizer.

And try to avoid touching your eyes and mouth.

A few tips so you may avoid that nasty little bug.
