Gallup has released its latest rankings of the happiest states in the U.S.

This year, North Dakota has taken the top spot, beating out long time number #1 Hawaii.

While New Jersey did not rank in the top 10, it did rank the highest of all local states with a happiness score of 66.9. New Jersey ranked higher than New York (65.5), Connecticut (65.9) and Pennsylvania (65.9).

West Virginia finished last with a well-being rating of 61.4
