David Letterman will come into our homes for the last time tonight and it brings an end to an era.  It will be sad.

If you are a fan of Letterman's from the beginning you will watch a 33-year piece of your life end tonight.

David Letterman advanced the ball handed off to him by Johnny Carson, whom he worshipped and who basically advised him to leave NBC saying that’s what he would do given the circumstances.

In the beginning he was this crazy funny guy with features like “stupid pet tricks” and throwing himself into Velcro. Letterman evolved and took sarcasm to a new level. He was the perfect guy to usher in that new era of comedy.

As time went on, he became the cool guy who you loved to end the day with before you said “Good Night” and Paul plays you a lullaby.I love the Top Ten List and when it came in the interview, Dave would always be on point and no matter who he was talking to, they always wanted to be there.

Late night is in good hands with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Stephen Colbert will do with “The Late Show” moving forward. I’m also excited to find out what David Letterman will do next. When Johnny Carson left he promised to be back in other things but never returned except for one appearance on Letterman. I’m hoping that doesn’t happen with Dave.
