Carebear, Blanca, Darby and Myla need forever homes [NJ Pets of the Week]

NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Carebear

Carebear is a friendly 5-year-old cat who lives up to his name. He has a gentle, mellow disposition. Carebear likes to play, but he loves to snuggle just as much. He will roll over as soon as you start petting him and nudge you with his head if you stop. Carebear would be the perfect addition to any family, which is all he really wants. He is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, FIV and FeLV negative. Carebear is currently at PetSmart, the shelter's partner location, on Rt. 27 in Edison.

Adopt Blanca

Blanca is a Pit Bull mix who was found wandering in Somerset County and brought to the Ewing Animal Shelter. We think she is deaf, but Blanca does respond to commands through non-verbal communication.  Blanca can be reactive to small dogs, but we have introduced her to big dogs at the shelter and she's fine around them. For the most part, Blanca is a very relaxed dog. She pulls on her leash if you let her, but will take correction and walk nicely. Blanca has been with us since February and would love to find a home.

Adopt Darby

Give your attention to Darby because he is always ready to rock and roll! This handsome dude is a Pit Bull rock star with a shiny, black brindle coat and warm piercing eyes! He was found as a stray, but that does not seem to bother him. He's as happy as can be!  Darby's a very young, active dog with lots of energy. He loves long walks and enjoys tasty treats. He is very alert and aware of his surroundings. Darby loves attention so much that he can not seem to get close enough to you. If you want a best friend that sticks to you like glue, then Darby is your dog. He would do best in a loving home where training, positive reinforcement, long walks and creative play are part of his daily routine. His true potential will be reached if he is enrolled with you in formal training classes. A fenced-in yard is preferred.

Adopt Myla

Myla is a beautiful young calico. She is shy but sweet, and she will warm up to you in no time. The ideal day in Myla’s life would include a long nap and extended play time. Myla is very excited to meet her forever parents. Don’t hesitate. Please inquire about Myla today.
