Winslow Toddler in Critical After Near-Drowning
Prosecutors say a toddler found unconscious in an above-ground pool at a southern New Jersey home remains hospitalized in critical condition.
But it still wasn't clear Wednesday how the 23-month-old child got into the pool on Tuesday night.
Police responding to a 911 call from a Winslow Township home found the child and his mother on the front lawn around 7:30 p.m. Officers and emergency responders performed CPR on the child at the scene, and the toddler was later flown by helicopter to a hospital in Philadelphia.
The child's name and gender were not disclosed, and authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
