The Warren Hills Blue Streaks football team returned to the field for the first time since the sudden death of quarterback Evan Murray Friday night with a 27-6 win over North Plainfield.

Leigh Valley Live reports emotions were running high, with Murray's No. 18 seemingly everywhere around the field. The players walked onto the field together under a "We Are #18" banner and then broke into a chant of the senior quarterback's name to complete a moment of silence.

"A lot of emotions were running," Warren Hills sophomore quarterback Cooper Gabrich told MyCentralJersey.com. "I miss Evan. I love Evan. I'm just playing the season for him."

The game was originally set to be played in North Plainfield but was switched at the request of Warren Hills. Murray died from a ruptured spleen after taking a hit during a game on Sept. 25 vs. Summit.
