Gov. Chris Christie is still being considered for top spots in Donald Trump's administration, including as head of the Energy and the Homeland Security departments, according to an NJ.com report citing several unnamed sources.

Christie this week on New Jersey 101.5's "Ask the Governor" insisted that he intended to serve out his gubernatorial term until January 2018.

Christie, who was the first major elected official to endorse Trump's candidacy in the GOP primary, had been Trump's transition committee chairman until he was demoted this month.

Christie this week said he and Trump maintain a good relationship.

One of NJ.com's source said it was not clear if Christie would accept any of the appointments being offered, or if any of the posts are "a right fit for him."
