Add Sen. Kip Bateman to the list of NJ legislators who are strongly opposed to the $300 million statehouse renovation.

"To spend this kind of  money without the transparency and without the public being involved, it's outrageous," Bateman said. If the public is cynical towards politicians, you don't have to look much further than projects like this to find out why.

Bateman also called in to promote two events his is hosting. The first being an event in Princeton at the Morven Museum and Garden to proclaim that the first Friday in June every year as New Jersey Public Garden and Arboretum Day.

The second is a blood drive at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.Blood donations are very much in need and the senator is doing his part to help the Steeplechase Cancer Center. Blood is desperately needed and anyone over 17 years of age can donate. Senator Bateman will be there at 2:30 to donate. The blood drive will run from 2;30-7:30 p.m.
