Authorities say 13 Newark firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion at a local hospital after battling a blaze at Essex County Community College Sunday.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose told NJ Advance Media that the electrical fire broke out about 8 a.m. in the sub-basement of a building on University Avenue. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

The article states that one of the injured department members was a female probationary firefighter who graduated from the academy three weeks ago.
