With all the talk about the wall at the Mexican border, it's actually the Canadian border that many could be fleeing to. The Liberal Government will announce legislation next month that will legalize marijuana in Canada by July 2018. The provinces will have the right to decide how it's distributed and sold. Wouldn't you like to see this happen in New Jersey? Would you vote for a candidate who would make it happen?

Right now, New Jersey only has a limited medical marijuana law on the books that just expanded when Governor Christie signed a piece of legislation adding post traumatic stress disorder to the list of qualified conditions.

We all know Governor Christie's stance against legalizing weed, but it's not shared by others. Senate President Steve Sweeney after touring Colorado where weed is legal has said that New Jersey could also legalize marijuana as early as 2018.  Phil Murphy, the democrats likely nominee for governor, said at a town hall meeting that he supports marijuana legalization in New Jersey. If I were him, I would make this the selling point of his campaign.

When it comes to campaigning, most people hear the same old stuff feeling no matter what they say, nothing's ever going to change. "Blah blah blah." But if you lean on "I will be the guy that brings marijuana to New Jersey" you're going to ring true with enough people who may not hear anything else but who would then check further to see what you're all about. A Fairliegh Dickerson poll taken in 2015 shows that 48% are in favor of legalizing marijuana while 45% oppose, so the numbers are also on your side.

With more and more states legalizing weed across the country, it's looking like sooner rather than later, we're going to have legalized marijuana in New Jersey. What do you think?
