A new article by Business Insider shows the most expensive homes for sale in each state, ranked by price. Here's how they came up with their list:

Our friends at Point2Homes have helped us compile a list of the most expensive homes currently for sale in every state, plus Washington, DC. They're ranked in order, going from the least expensive all the way up to America's priciest.

 

According to the list, you can buy the most expensive home in North Dakota for a paltry $2.78 million. While on the other end of the spectrum, if you want to go get yourself quite the posh palace, you can buy "Palazzo di Amore" in California for $149 million. The house comes with 12 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms, a vineyard and enough parking for 2 dozen of your finest automobiles.

As for New Jersey? New Jersey's top-ranked mansion comes in at #7 on the list. The Alpine Stone Mansion boasts 12 bedrooms, an indoor basketball court, movie theater and 3 bars!
