Two Wounded in Botched Paterson Bodega Robbery
Authorities say a woman and her adult son were shot by a gunman who robbed their northern New Jersey bodega.
Paterson police say the 60-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical but stable condition with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. Her 39-year-old son was in stable condition with a leg wound.
The shootings occurred shortly after the gunman entered the store around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday and announced the robbery.
The 39-year-old man, who was at the back of the bodega, began struggling with the gunman, and the mother quickly came to her son's aid. The gunman then fired multiple shots before fleeing the store.
The gunman remained at large Wednesday afternoon, and it's not known if he was injured.
