We kicked off the morning show with much discussion surrounding Jersey politics. From Heidi Cruz canceling tomorrow’s phone interview, to Mayor Don Guardian taking a scene out of Dumb and Dumber. We even mentioned Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt sponsoring a bill that would enforce texting and walking. Something has to give with Jersey politics!

Heidi Cruz Reschedules Interview Until after the Wisconsin Primary

The New Jersey primary has become increasingly relevant in the presidential election. Heidi Cruz was supposed to be calling in on air with me this week but is rescheduling until after the Wisconsin primary. We were all set for for a 7:08 am interview on Wednesday. After canceling a trip to New Jersey, Heidi Cruz canceled a phone interview with my show last night. Funny because you can actually call from Wisconsin. That would be okay. A phone call is a phone call. There are phones in Wisconsin. Why would it matter where they call from? Former Mayor of Bogota, Steve Lonegan saying this was not a cancellation, but a postponement. No coincidences in politics. Stay tuned.

Humans are built to multi-task

Earlier in the month, Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt sponsored a bill that would fine and imprison any individual who text and walk. Let’s focus on texting and walking for a minute. In the book Freakonomics says that drunk walking is actually 8 times more dangerous than drunk driving. Out of all pedestrian deaths 35 percent are caused by drunk driving. We need common sense back in politics. If you can’t do two things at once, you shouldn’t be doing it! We certainly don’t need someone going to jail for 15 days just for having their head in their phone. Humans are made to multi-task. How many more laws can we handle? How far should government go to protect you from yourself? There are all kinds of perils for walking down Jersey sidewalks. Instead we should tell people to look both ways? Listen to my perspective of texting while walking below.

Mayor Don Guardian: A Scene Out of Dumb and Dumber

Atlantic City is in all kinds of trouble. In 10 days they will be out of money. Mayor Don Guardian possibly having to issue IOU’s is right out the script from Dumb and Dumber. That’s what you can expect from Atlantic City soon enough. This week I will be in the thick of it broadcasting live from the Garden State Film Festival. I am fascinated by the fact that no side has discussed an honest solution to the crisis in Atlantic City. A solution, that comes in the form of changing the gaming laws and allowing businesses to be tax free for ten years. We will have to work hard and use common sense. Hear how we can save AC below.
