July 1st 1969 - John Lennon, Yoko Ono, her daughter Kyoko, and his son Julian were all involved in a car accident in Scotland when Lennon lost control and drove his white Leyland Austin Maxi into a ditch.

June 22nd 1963 - Stevie Wonder, at the age of 13, enters the singles charts as Little Stevie Wonder with "Fingertips Part One and Two". The song was the first live, out of studio recording to hit No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart in the US since

June 15th 1956 - John Lennon and Paul McCartney meet at a church dinner in Liverpool, England where Lennon asks McCartney to join his group The Quarrymen.

June 3rd 1969 - It's a very sad day for singer Diana Ross of The Supremes. She discovers her two pet dogs had eaten rat poison and died in her dressing room.

May 26th 1969 - John and Yoko began their famous eight-day "bed in" to promote world peace. It was in room 1742 of The Hotel La Reine Elizabeth in Montreal, Canada.

February 19th 1958 - Smokey Robinson turns 18 the same day that his group the Miracles release their first single, "Got a Job." The Robinson composition was a riposte to the Silhouettes' hit "Get a Job."

December 18th 1966 - Tara Browne was killed when driving at high speed in his Lotus Elan after it collided with a parked lorry in South Kensington, London. A close friend of The Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Brian Jones

December 9th 1967 - Police arrest Jim Morrison as he performs onstage in New Haven, Conn. It's the culmination of a wild night for the Lizard King, who clashed with a cop trying to hassle him and his lady before the gig.
