Hunterdon County was one of the worst areas hit by the Halloween Weekend storm. Power and cell service is out due to hundreds of massive trees crashing down from the weight of the snow. It will be days before power is restored in many areas.

Governor Chris Christie called New Jersey 101.5 this evening to declare a state of emergency due to the heavy wet snow of the historic Halloween Weekend snowstorm. 

The storm has brought down trees, limbs and powerlines in many parts of Central and Northern New Jersey

Governor Chris Christie advises residents to "stay off roads in North Jersey" in a tweet Saturday afternoon:

Please stay off roads in North Jersey. Wet snow is causing downed trees & power lines. EVERY PIECE OF

As conditions start to worsen Jim Simpson from NJDOT states that all roads especially west of the turnpike from Mercer County and north are very slick.  Temps are hovering around freezing so be aware of thin layers of ice forming

What is scarier than Halloween?  A Halloween Weekend winter storm warning!  The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Eastern Passaic, Western Bergen and Morris Counties from 2am Saturday to 2am Sunday.  A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Essex, Union and Eastern Bergen Counties.  Here is what to expect from the National Weather Service:
