In honor of the Giants playing in the Super Bowl this weekend, New Jersey 101.5 celebrates the decade of the Giants first big game win...THE 80's!  Listen for a "Big Blue-Big 80's Weekend", we'll be playing Jersey's Favorite 80's hits!  ALL 80's, ALL weekend!

The Giants traveled to Pasadena California for Super Bowl XXI to take on the Denver Broncos on January 25, 1987.  Hear all the big hits of the '80s including these songs that were all over your radio at the time of SB XXI; "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi, "Notorious" by Duran Duran, "Land Of Confusion" by Genesis, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" by Wang Chung" and "Open Your Heart" by Madonna.

25 years later Madonna is the half-time show at this weekend's Super Bowl.  (The half-time show in 1987 featured a Southern California high school drill team!)  Here is the video of Madonna's new song "Give Me All Your Luvin".  She will likely perform this song during the half-time show:

Pat Summerall & John Madden announced the game that year and 87.2 million people watched the Giants beat the Bronco's 39-20.

This year, 173 million are expected to watch.

So as you run around doing all your pre Super Bowl errands (buying beer, soda, wings, and HD TV)...be sure to make New Jersey 101.5 your sound track as we celebrate the decade of the Giants first big game win!

Check out the videos below for memories from Super Bowl XXI.  Neil Diamond sings the National Anthem, and a couple of videos of CBS's coverage of the game.  If you have not done it yet, take our poll to let us know your favorite local team.  As we suspected, the Giants are way in the lead!
