The Asbury Park Press reports that “Jersey Shore” alumni Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley, who currently star in their own MTV spinoff series, Snooki & JWOWW, may be taking a summer vacation on at a home  rented by the cable channel on Sunset Drive South in Pelican Island.

Berkley Township Mayor Carmen Amato tells the Star Ledger says he was asked about filming inside a home on Pelican Island by a realtor but was not told who or what was involved. He said the Township does not have any ordinances about filming but he would seek to get something proposed at the next Council meeting.

The home is registered to Michael Loundy according to the Ocean County Clerk’s Office who is the owner of Seaside Realty according to the Star Ledger. He is also a member of the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District.

Berkeley Township Council President James Byrnes tells the newspaper that the filming would only be a “distraction” to those still trying to rebuild from Sandy.

Pelican Island is an island in Barnegat Bay that part of both Berkeley Township and Toms River with a population of 500. It was shown in the opening credits for Jersey Shore and was hard hit during Superstorm Sandy and many residents are still rebuilding their homes.

Richard Judge told the Press that he is worried about increasing the amount of traffic noise they could bring, citing noise already from the Mathias & Tobias bridges between Seaside Heights and Toms River. “They need to close this off if they’re bringing MTV in here,” he said pointing to the street.

“Don’t drag Seaside Heights over to our nice residential area and make a carnival out of it,” resident Mike Valenti told the Press, remembering how fans of Jersey Shore would drive by the house used for taping the show between 2009 and 2012.

Last summer the pair rented a home in Manchester and kept a low profile as Polizzi was in the final months of her pregnancy.

The cast of the show has shown support for Seaside Heights since Superstorm Sandy by hosting a fundraiser on MTV. They also appeared on the Today show during a live broadcast from Seaside Heights which led to an awkward meeting between Polizzi and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Swelte Snooki

It will be a thinner Polizzi that will be on Pelican Island. A much slimmer Snooki with newly magenta-colored hair appeared at the Self Magazine Rocks The Summer event in New York on Tuesday night.  The Daily Mail of London reports that she has dropped 50 pounds and has been taking criticism for her appearance. But she fired right back on her Twitter account.

The pair is expected in Pelican Island for several weeks but no exact dates were given.
