Fire fighters in Pennsauken smashed the windows of a Honda SUV in order to reach a fire hydrant during an emergency last night.

"This person made the conscious decision to park in front of the fire hydrant," said Pennsauken fire chief Joseph Palumbo in a report by NJ.com.

Palumbo said his crew was trying to extinguish a burning house that they thought might have contained people, when they couldn't access the hydrant. Going under or over the vehicle, he said, wasn't an option because it would've affected water flow, and they tried to avoid doing breaking the windows.

Palumbo pointed out that this type of parking job warrants a ticket by law. However, some might find the fire fighters' actions unfair.

Do you think it was fair of the fire fighters to smash the car windows? Let us know in the poll below.
