Should Parents Help Kids with Homework? [POLL]

Judi was discussing how it still amazes her how much homework kids get nowadays. To Judi, it just seems as if they get so much more than she or even her older kids received when they were students.

Based on the amount of homework kids are receiving, Judi asked the question as to whether parents should be helping their kids with their homework or not. Dennis said that when his kids were growing up, unless they were stumped, he didn't help them with homework. Dennis' theory was that he would become an instant crutch for them if he always sat with them and helped them and instead wanted them to try and work through the issue themselves.

As a parent, what do you think about your child's homework? What method do you use? Is it more beneficial to sit with them or let them work though it on their own?
