Seal sighting in Seaside

I told Bill yesterday how we saw whales from the beach at Seaside last week and he didn't believe me at first. Unfortunately we couldn't get pictures because they were too quick, but anyone who was on the beaches those days last week could back me up on this. What my fiancee was able to get a pic of was this baby seal playfully swimming in the very shallow water right off the beach. It drew a crowd and I know this is anthropomorphism but she said the seal really seemed to be enjoying the attention.

The lifeguards even came over and asked people not to crowd it. They were worried someone would get close enough to touch it apparently. Personally I think it was probably longing for a belly rub.

I missed the whole thing. I was back at the beach house when the seal showed up. However later that day when I was down on the beach I caught this picture of another seal.
