Real vs Fake Snowman
Even though our New Jersey snow has a protective crust over it at the moment (which isn't the best for making a snowman), we have plenty of the white stuff!
Every day, I pass FedEx Pat's (and his daughters') snowman and "snow woman."
I refer to them as my new, "temporary" listeners.
With the cold front that we have been (suffering) under (for too long), they have lasted two weeks, and counting....although as you can see, they are a bit...worse for the wear!
OK...a LOT worse as of today, as you can see below:
This long-lasting snowy couple got me thinking about the "fake" snowman that I saw in my grocery store...back before the snow was flying. Back when this was the best that we could do...
I saw this "snowman" (and I laughed), and had to quickly (and covertly) take pictures!
Comparing these two "snowmen," I wonder which one you like best...both have their pros and cons.
Snowman pros: made of real snow, can wear a real scarf and hat, and be made with readily available (real...and real "cheap") items such as snow, rocks, twigs, tree branches, and a carrot as a nose (if you so desire).
Snowman cons: like "Frosty the Snowman," they melt on a (really) warm day...or you can watch them gradually "fade away" over a few days. So sad. They don't do so well inside the house.
Fake Snowman pros: You can keep them indoors without turning the thermostat down to an unacceptable level, no snow is necessary, no melting.
Fake Snowman cons: Where is the snow? (aka: no snow is necessary), it doesn't (technically) live up to most of its "name," eyes of rocks and nose of carrot may be hazardous to its health, it is really a "balloon man," keep out of reach of sharp objects.
Feel free to vote for your preferred form of snowman...and add to my quick "pros and cons" list!
In the meantime...anyone got a......pin?
