A North Bergen township official says the state Attorney General's Division of Criminal Justice has executed a search warrant on the Public Works Department there.

Township spokesman Philip Swibinski tells The Star-Ledger of Newark that investigators seized records and documents.

Swibinski says the township is cooperating.

The Attorney General's Office would not confirm or deny an investigation.

The Jersey Journal, citing multiple anonymous sources with knowledge of the investigation, reports that the investigation centers on Public Works superintendent Jim Wiley and landscaping work performed at his home.

Wiley did not return a call for comment.
