Officials from East Rutherford and Secaucus outlined their plans Monday at an event in East Rutherford.

East Rutherford is planning a large tailgate party that will include music, food and games that will take place on Super Bowl Sunday, in the hours leading up to the game.

Secaucus is planning a Winter Blast that will feature food trucks, a beer garden and a pro hockey game.

Both towns say they've got enough sponsors to defray most costs.

The Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium will be the first played outdoors at a cold-weather location. About 400,000 people are expected to visit the New York-New Jersey area for the game.
