NJ Hearing on Super Bowl Train Troubles Postponed

A New Jersey legislative hearing on train troubles at the Super Bowl has been postponed after the departing head of New Jersey Transit said he would not attend.

Assembly Transportation Committee chairman John Wisniewski announced Friday that the hearing would not be held Monday.

The committee is investigating delays after twice as many Super Bowl ticketholders as projected took trains to MetLife Stadium. It took hours and dozens of buses to get everyone out.

Wisniewski says NJ Transit Executive Director James Weinstein told him he would not be there. Weinstein this week announced that he was resigning effective March 2. NJ Transit did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Wisniewski says the NFL and the stadium owners also refused to send officials to the hearing.
