How my son's first time on a Jersey shore beach went

We talked about this a few days before I took vacation: Baby's Firsts Gone Bad.

Whether it was a baby's first time with bare feet on the sand or in the ocean, a first time on Santa's lap or seeing the Easter Bunny, or a first time seeing his or her own shadow, lots can go wrong. There were lots of funny stories that day about total meltdowns.

Fortunately, we had none of that. Things went well. My wife and our just-turned-11-month-old son spent the week with my in-laws at a beautiful beach house in Seaside Park and enjoyed the Jersey shore.
