Holland Tunnel Toll Stop Nabs Man Wanted in Murder
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Police from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey say they’ve nabbed a Jersey City man wanted in a murder in Union County.
Spokesman Joe Pentangelo says 36-year-old Eric Delman Vega was heading into the Holland Tunnel on Thursday when he was stopped for having shaded license plate covers.
Port Authority Officer Michael Gerbasio recognized Vega as a suspect in a 2013 murder and detained him.
The Union County prosecutor’s office says Vega has been charged with murder and weapons offenses and is being held on $2 million bail.
Another suspect turned himself in earlier this week and is charged with hindering and evidence tampering.
