The Fox News host said on his radio show today, "I’ve been in touch with some people in the Republican Party in New Jersey. I am truly contemplating running for Senate against Frank Lautenberg or Cory Booker" according to The Hill. “But I figure at my age, if I’m going to do it I’ve got to do it. And there doesn’t seem to be any Republicans ready to work against or run against Corey Booker, the popular Newark mayor.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker has been criticized for announcing plans to challenge the 89-year-old Lautenberg for the seat in 2014 by fellow Democrats and Lautenberg himself.
Rivera currently lives in Edgewater but has lived in Middletown. He was a reporter for WABC TV in the 1970's before being picked up by ABC. He later worked for NBC and then Fox News.
