Do you have a tattoo? If so, when did you get it and has it changed how you are viewed.

Do tattoos affect your Job?
loading...

A new Rutgers-Eagleton poll shows 19 per cent of New Jerseyans have a tattoo with 37 per cent of the millennials born after 1980  having at least one.

About 75 per cent of people polled say they don’t think less of a person who has a tattoo but having said that, would you hire a person covered in body art? Would you give a shirt and tie job to a person whose neck is covered in ink? Does your opinion change if a person takes off their jacket to reveal totally covered arms? Do you think twice about getting a tattoo if you’re going for one of these jobs?

Should people with tattoos be treated differently? As much as it shouldn’t make a difference and we should all be able to express ourselves, there is a massive job shortage in New Jersey right now and you need to do everything you can to give yourself an edge.  I find it odd that the people who campaigned hard in the sixties for freedom of expression are now the ones now looking down on the tattooed.
