A Pride Day that has nothing to do with rainbows and nothing to do with the LGBT community is coming to New Jersey. Try Pagans. Yes, it’s the South Jersey Pagan Pride Day, 10th annual in fact, happening at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken on October 5th. Pagan Pride focuses on religious tolerance and understanding, and of course nature and earth.

“We have workshops and activities that show Pagan aspects and practices,” says president Aime Tolomeo. “You don’t have to be Pagan to participate.”

They promise some big name Pagans, like Pagan activist Lady Liberty League, yes, that’s a name, as well as Reverend Selena Fox. Never heard of them. They will be delivering a keynote address and leading a ritual to acknowledge the season’s change. I can almost smell the incense now. Oh, don’t forget the music from Pagan artists like Project Wendigo and Acoustic Acrobat. Yeah, love their stuff. They’re like my favorite Pagan artists, said no one ever. Typsy Gypsys will also perform a bellydance. Can’t wait. Oh damn, I just remembered, I have to stare at my wall that day.
