Wasim Khan put up the signs in his window in the Mazdabrook Commons condo community in Parsippany in 2005, when he was running for local office. Within days he was told the signs violated the condo association's policy and he was fined.

A judge ruled in the condo association's favor. An appeals court found in 2010 that his constitutional rights to free speech had been violated by the sign restrictions.

In a 5-1 ruling Wednesday, the state Supreme Court agreed that the condo policy violates state free-speech laws.
