9/11: On The Air [AUDIO]
The morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 was a bright late summer day with temperatures approaching the 80s offering no clue to the events of the day about to unfold. Listen to audio and hear how the attacks were first reported.

As Jim Gearhart spoke to a caller from Hamilton about education the newsroom received word of a plane hitting the side of one of the World Trade Center towers in lower Manhattan. At first it was believed to be a small plane. But as people turned on the TV on the cameras now fixed on the towers and saw a jetliner crash into the other tower, it became clear: America was under attack.
Listen to audio and hear the events of the day.
