Bishop Reginald T. Jackson on Monday endorsed the governor based solely on Governor Christie's stance on school-choice policies.

Jackson, who is the executive director of the Black Ministers Council of New Jersey, did not endorse Christie when he ran against Jon Corzine in 2009 but has crossed party lines to vote for a Republican in past elections.

With Christie by his side as well as six other black clergy members at a news conference Monday at the Statehouse, Jackson said he chose the Republican governor over his Democratic challenger State Senator Barbara Buono because of Christie's support for allowing students in failing districts to attend school elsewhere.

Do you think that is a reason enough to endorse a candidate? What topic or cause are you passionate enough about that would make you endorse a candidate? Discuss below.
