Just say YES? NO! If you're like us and you tend to be a people pleaser, you're probably saying yes to things that you would rather not do. In life there are definitely some obligations that have to be met and kept, but do you really have to go to your friend's makeup demonstration, or every single birthday party that your cousin's baby has?
If you're always saying yes to things that you would rather say no to, here are some tips from Psychology Today that might help:
- Don't feel guilty for saying no.
- Figure out why you're saying no.
- If the person can't accept no, that's his or her problem, not yours.
- Be as polite and gracious as possible when saying no.
