The bills would be named after a University of Pennsylvania student-athlete Madison Holleran. Holleran, was a New Jersey native who battled depression during her time at the University and wound up committing suicide in Center City, Philadelphia.

The bills would be named the Madison Holleran Suicide Prevention Act and the Madison Holleran Proper Reporting Act and the Madison Holleran Proper Reporting Act would serve as resources for any students that would be contemplating suicide. The reporting act would require universities to report on its website the total number of students that attempted or committed suicide from the prior academic year.

While Dennis and Judi think any student committing suicide is absolutely tragic, naming two bills after Holleran is more of a "feel-good" legislation than acting as a teaching tool for students that need help.

What do you think? Do you think these 2 bills would actually be helpful? Take the poll below and let us know your opinion.
