The internet is abuzz with opinions after it was announced last night that Ben Affleck would be playing Batman in Zack Snyder's upcoming, Superman/Batman film. If Snyder's name doesn't ring a bell, he also directed 2009's 'Watchmen' as well as this year's 'Man of Steel', which earned over $650 million worldwide this summer.

From the press release,

Affleck will star opposite Henry Cavill, who will reprise the role of Superman/Clark Kent. The film will also reunite “Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

But back to Ben Affleck. While the initial reaction seems to run toward the negative, I think people will come around. Back in the '80s, we learned to accept a comic actor (Michael Keaton) as the Caped Crusader and Keaton wound up doing a terrific job. He was followed by Val Kilmer and George Clooney, although Clooney almost killed the franchise. Then, the series was rebooted in the 2000s with a Welshman playing The Dark Knight, and, again, people got used to it. So, after the initial furor dies down, I think people will accept the former 'Daredevil', Ben Affleck.

Do you think Ben Affleck will be able to pull off the role of Batman? Take our poll and share your thoughts below.
