Here’s how it the voting works: Each week, we have a new group of NJ student-athletes who have shined for their respective teams. You can cast your vote for your favorite athlete. Voting ends on Friday at NOON. Find out the winner when they are announced on NJ1015.com at 2pm. Each weekly winner will get a plaque and at the end of the school year we’ll honor all our winners with a very special awards banquet.

Football – Christian Maiden, Sr., QB, Washington Township

With a state playoff berth on the line, Maiden went 27-for-35 for 436 yards and three touchdowns passing in a 63-56 win over Clearview to help secure the Minutemen a spot in the South Jersey Group V bracket.

Football - Chandler Vanderbeek, Sr., RB, Immaculata

Vanderbeek ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in Immaculata’s 31-28 win in double overtime over previously undefeated Phillipsburg.

Gymnastics – Arianna Turso, Sr., Brick Memorial

Turso won the bars with a 9.525, took fifth in the vault and beam, and finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 36.6 to help lead Brick Memorial to the South Jersey sectional title. It’s Brick Memorial’s first sectional title in gymnastics in school history.

Girls volleyball – Elizabeth Ruley, Jr., Setter, South Brunswick

Ruley had 25 assists, connecting with teammate Julia Burzynski for 12 kills, as 11th-seeded South Brunswick upset fifth-seeded Watchung Hills, 25-14, 21-25, 25-23, in a the NJSIAA Group IV tournament.

Field hockey – Jasmine Chen, Sr., Goalie, Parsippany

Chen made 13 saves, including several brilliant diving stops, in a 4-2 win over Voorhees in the North Jersey 1, Group II semifinals that put Parsippany into its first sectional championship game in program history.
