An accident between two tractor trailers led to a fire on Route 287 that closed down the roadway in Somerset County at the start of the Monday morning commute.

The road was closed until around 7:30 a.m. on the northbound side at exit No. 22 for Routes 202 and 206 in Bedminster as fire crews worked to put out the flames and move the truck off the road.

New Jersey State Police said there were injuries as a result of the incident which remains under investigation.

New Jersey Traffic North's Bob Williams advised using Route 202 to get around the closure point but said by 6:30 a.m., the area was already slow with traffic.

New Jersey State Police had no additional information injuries or the circumstances of the fire.
