Tina Turner Renounces U.S. Citizenship

Music icon, Tina Turner is on the verge of becoming a Swiss citizen.

There's nothing unusual about many "well heeled" Americans that maintain  homes outside of the U.S.  It's another thing to renounce your American citizenship.

The Associated Press reports that Tina Turner has passed tests and interviews to become a citizen of Switzerland.

The 73 year old singer has reportedly been living in Switzerland since 1995.

Turner told a German newspaper that she's very happy in Switzerland and feels at home there.  The diva went on to say, quote, "I could not imagine a better place to live."

Here's my question.  If Tina Turner was born and raised in Switzerland would she have had the same opportunities for success that she had here in America?
