Watching the absolute joy that Chicago Cubs fans experienced as their team won their first World Series in 108 years, brought me back to one of my best sports memories: seeing the Giants win the Super Bowl in 1987. In the 25 painful years I had followed them through the 1970s I had never seen them win anything, yet suffered through the humiliation and laughter, especially after games like the first Miracle of the Meadowlands.

I didn't go to the Super Bowl in Pasadena, but did make it to the championship game in 1986 when they shut out the Redskins in the freezing cold confetti filled stadium. There was a disagreement at the time between New Jersey and New York over who would give them a parade if they won, so we the fans decided to do it ourselves and shower the team from the stands. After the game, all us fans from all the different Giant generations were holding each other and crying for the championship we were about to experience.

Everyone has that game which meant more to them than any other for different reasons and on this day that the Cubs fans are celebrating, I asked which was yours.

Here's what I got:

Tom Cunningham - Taking my father to the pennant clincher at The Vet in '93. (Numerous miracles at the Meadowlands always come in a close second)

Jay Lustig - Game 6, Buckner's error, Mets vs. Red Sox. And Manning-to-Tyree in the Super Bowl, Giants vs. Patriots.

Gary Reed - 1986 New York Giants and New York Mets.

Michael -The Flyers winning their first Stanley Cup.

J Robert Stanton - Flyers win the Stanley Cup 1974, Phillies win the world Series 1980

John Kensil - 80 worlds series, Tug McGraw jumping at win.

Eric Jensen - Roger Maris' 61st home run, in 1961, and the Rangers winning the Stanley Cup, in 1994; I was at both games.

Jason A Gutteridge - Attending both the clinching game of 2008 World Series and Flyers Bruins Game 7 in 2010.

Scott C. Larkin - The Red Sox coming back from 3-0, beating the Yankees and going on to win the World Series!!!
